☀️ Learn how to create realistic artificial light and bring depth back into your underwater images!
We have all had those dives where the wildlife was incredible… but the lighting just wasn’t on our side. Maybe it was cloudy, maybe you were too deep, or maybe the sun just wasn’t hitting your subject the way you imagined.
But just because the light wasn’t there on the day does not mean your final image has to stay that way.
In this 90-minute session, we’ll explore how light behaves underwater and how understanding the science behind it can completely transform the way you edit. Before we start moving sliders, we’ll dive into the theory of underwater lighting covering how sunlight penetrates water, how depth impacts colour and contrast, and how natural light creates dimension in an image.
Then we’ll put that knowledge into practice.
I’ll walk you through my techniques for creating realistic artificial light sources in Lightroom, helping you add depth, atmosphere, and emotion back into images that might otherwise feel flat. We’ll cover how to use light intentionally to guide the viewer’s eye, highlight your subject, and recreate that magical underwater glow.
Photos feeling a little flat or missing that “wow” factor? This workshop will teach you how to stop fighting tricky lighting conditions and start creating the light your image needs.
📍 Online via Google Meet
📅 June 26th
⏰ 10:00 - 11:30 Sydney time
💻 You’ll need Adobe Lightroom (Cloud version) downloaded before the session.
Can’t make it live or want to watch it again? The session will be recorded and shared with registered participants for one week after the workshop.
Bring your images, your creativity, and get ready to paint with light underwater! ✨
